Pretzels are delicious in the morning with milk and gem and can be a filling snack to take to school or if you go an a trip. Try them in this sweet version with honey and orange peel!


  • 125 ml warm water
  • egg
  • 25 grams melted butter (cold or warm, but not hot)
  • 120 grams sugar
  • tbsp honey
  • yeast Dr. Oetker
  • peel from one orange
  • 425 grams flour
  • tsp ½ salt

Directions for Sweet pretzels

Step 1: Heat well the oven, then reduce the heat to the minimum just to keep the warmth in the kitchen.

Step 2: Make a batter out of the ingredients, place it on the working table that was sprinkled with flour and stretch it. Make sure it’s around 0.5 cm thick. Then roll it and slice it. There should be around 11 pieces. Then open each roll and turn it into a string. Then braid the pretzels as you see in the pictures.

Step 3: Put cooking paper in a tray, place the pretzels, but not too close to each other, cover them with a clean towel and let them grow for an hour. Mix egg with milk, anoint the pretzels, sprinkle brown sugar and cook then in the oven, at small heat, for 15-20 minutes. Enjoy!
