Spicy roasted broccoli with sesame seeds and Parmesan

Recipes - Spicy roasted broccoli with sesame seeds and Parmesan

I like broccoli, but after a series of souffles and cream soup, I was a bit tired of it and wanted something new. So I searched and searched and found a few recipes on the internet (oh, the joys of technology). My personal touch would be the sesame seeds, which I have all the time in my kitchen for salads or home-made tahini.

  • broccoli floret
  • half a cup olive oil (about 100-130 ml)
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • salt
  • pepper
  • juice from half a lemon
  • Parmesan
  • handful sesame seeds
  • dry chilli flakes

Directions for Spicy roasted broccoli with sesame seeds and Parmesan

Step 1: Trim off the hard base of the broccoli, then remove smaller florets by hand or with a knife. Rinse them and let them dry a bit. Put them in a large bowl.

Step 2: Mix olive oil with salt, pepper, chilli flakes, crushed garlic and lemon juice.

Step 3: Add sesame seeds over croccoli florets. Mix. Pour oil and garlic mixture over them. Mix again making sure that all the florets are covered. Let them absord the aromas for a few minutes.

Step 4: Heat up oven at 180 degrees (F). Place baking paper in a large tray. Put florets on it making sure they don't overlap. Roast florets for about 20 minutes. Serve them warm, with grated Parmesan. Enjoy!
