Recipes - Saganaki shrimps and clams

Sea-fruit and goat cheese - now there’s a reminder of a nice Mediterranean holiday!

  • 1/2 kg clams and shrimps (frozen)

  • 5 garlic cloves

  • one onion

  • 5 medium tomatoes

  • glass of white wine

  • olive oil

  • tarragon

  • salt

  • pepper

  • goat cheese

Directions for Saganaki shrimps and clams

Rinse the clams and shrimps with cold water and dry them off a bit. Finely chop the garlic. Heat up olive oil in a pan, then add the garlic. Add clams, shrimps, mix well and add white wine. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes, then stop the fire. Drain the sea fruit and put them in clay bowls, dividing them in portions.

Then prepare the sauce:  grate the tomatoes. Put the chopped onion in a pan with hot oil and fry it until it becomes transparent. Add the grated tomato, spices and let the sauce simmer. Then add sauce in each bowl using a dipper. Put pieces of goat cheese in the bowls, but not to much - keep in mind that goat cheese has a strong, particular taste and it easily overcomes the other aromas. Place the bowls in the oven for 15 more minutes, just enough for the cheese to melt. Enjoy!
