Revani is a delicious cake of Turkish origin perfect for the ones who love nuts and coconut flakes.


  • 4 eggs
  • 500 ml yogurt
  • 450 grams farina
  • 50 grams flour
  • small pack backing powder
  • small pack vanilla sugar
  • 200 grams sugar
  • 125 grams butter
  • teaspoon lemon peel
  • 50 grams coconut flakes
  • grated nuts and walnuts
  • 125 ml water
  • 125 grams sugar
  • juice of two lemon
  • conut flakes
  • nuts and walnuts

Directions for Revani cake

Mix farina with flour and baking powder. Mix yolks with sugar until sugar melts, then add butter (at room temperature) and alternatively a spoon of farina mixed with yogurt. In the end add lemon peel and whites mixed into a foam. Add whites by mixing them in slowly with a wooden spoon. Anoint a baking tray with a 30/40 diameter with fat/lard and then sprinkle coconut flakes over it. Pour batter into tray and place it in the hot oven for 35-45 minutes. When it’s ready, remove it from oven and let it cool off. Cut it in the tray when it’s cold. Boil the ingredients for the syrup and when it starts to get thick pour it warm over the cake. Sprinkle grated walnuts or coconut flakes over it and place it in the oven for 5 more minutes in the oven. Serve cake when it cools down again. Enjoy!
