Pick them while they are young and fresh at the end of spring or have them frozen in the winter – the nettles are full of vitamins and will give you a boost of energy and health! A few benefits of the nettles are: re-mineralize the body, eliminate anemia episodes, makes the blood more fluid and stimulates the metabolism.


  • nettles, as many as possible
  • 2 tbs white flour
  • 2 tbs corn flour
  • 4 tbs oil
  • garlic
  • salt
  • pepper
  • green lovage

Directions for Nettle puree with corn porridge

Step 1 : The nettles should be washed very well a few times. Soak them into hot water, take them out and put them to boil. The water left from the boiling is very healthy and you may drink it with a bit of lemon juice.

Remove the boiled nettles from the water, put them in a blender and puree them. Add 2 tbs of white flour and 2 of corn flour and mix them well.

Step 2: Add a bit of palm oil to a pan, toss the nettles and a little of the water in which they boiled and make it as fluid as you like. The fours will add a creamy consistency to the dish. In the end add pressed garlic and freshly chopped lovage. Serve it with corn porridge. Enjoy!
