If pasta is your favorite meal, either vegetarian or with sea-fruit or meat, then you’ll be delighted to try at least once to make the pasta yourself and serve it fresh.


  • 400 grams wheat flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil


Directions for Home-made pasta

Place the flour in a bowl and make a whole in the middle of it in order to place the eggs mixed with oil. Mix all the ingredients until you have a rather coarse batter. If the batter is still sticky, add more flour. Mix it by hand until it turns soft and silky, for about 8-10 minutes. Let it settle for 30 minutes before spreading it.

Mount the pasta machine on the margin of the working table, sprinkle flour on the cylinders through which the batter will pass through. Divide it in smaller portions in order to make it easier to spread. Take each piece of batter, flatten it a little and then pass it through the cylinders. In the beginning, the distance between the cylinders should be bigger. Fold the batter into 3 and spread it again. Repeat this up to 8-10 times, until the batter is really smooth. Then fix the pasta machine on the penultimate position (the narrower one) and pass the batter through it. If one of the sheets of batter gets holes in it, sprinkle flour over it and pass it again through the machine.

If the sheet is too long, cut it on the working table. Prepare each sheet to be cut into strips, thicker or thinner according to what you want to do with them. Introduce each sheet, spin the handle and place the resulting pasta on the working table. Sprinkle flour over the, so that they don’t stick together and let them dry. Then boil and prepare your favorite pasta recipe. Just remember that they cook faster than the bought ones. Enjoy!
