Grape tart with vanilla cream

Recipes - Grape tart with vanilla cream

This tart is very easy and fast to make. And even faster to eat :) The recipe is from , only that I replaced raspberries with grapes.

  •  125 grams flour (I mixed 100 grams white flour with 30 grams rye flour)
  • 25 grams sugar
  • 110 grams butter (from the fridge)
  • tablespoon milk
  • grapes

Vanilla cream:

  • 250 ml milk
  • vanilla extract
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 30 grams sugar
  • 20 grams potato starch

Directions for Grape tart with vanilla cream

Step 1: Put in a bowl flour, sugar, butter, a tablespoon of milk. Mix by hand. The cold butter will be hard at first, but once you start working on it, it gets softer. You must have a homogeneous, elastic dough. Wrap it in plastic foil and put it in the fridge for half an hour.

Step 2: Then take it out and turn it into a flat circle using a kitchen roll. Make sure you sprinkle enough flour on the table as the dough will be sticky. Put it in a tart tray over baking paper. Pierce dough with a fork from place to place. Put it in the preheated oven at 180 degrees for 30 minutes, until it gets a golden crust.

Step 3: Put the milk to boil in a pot with vanilla seeds is you have any. If not, add vanilla extract when the cream is almost done. In the meantime, mix in a bowl the egg yolks with potato starch and sugar. When the milk starts simmering, mix it with the egg cream and put it back over heat. Mix all the time with a wooden spoon, making sure the cream doesn't stick to the bottom. It will soon turn into a thick cream, so do't stop mixing because you may get lumps very easily. Then let the cream cool off a bit.

Step 4: Pour cream over the baked tart. Decorate with grapes and let it cool off completely. Enjoy!
