  • 500 grams flour
  • ½ cube fresh yeast
  • 280 ml warm milk
  • 100 grams sugar
  • 100 grams butter
  • salt
  • one yolk + 2 tbsp milk
  • a few raisins and almonds (for eyes and nose)

Directions for Easter bunny cakes

Step 1: Put the flour in a deep bowl or on the working table and make a hole in it. Dissolve the yeast in 2 tbsp of milk and 2 tbsp of sugar. Place it in the hole from the flor, cover it with a kitchen towel and keep it in a warm place for ten minutes, so that it increases its volume.

Step 2: Step by step, add the rest of the milk, sugar, soft butter (that was kept at room temperature) and the salt and mix it into a batter. Cover it with a towel and keep for 40 minutes in a warm place until it increases its size.

Step 3: Sprinkle flour on the table, place the batter and mix it with the hands to remove the air, then divide it into 16 parts. Flatten each of these pieces of batter, then using a knife, turn them into the shape of hands with long ears.

Step 4: Place the resulting bunnies in a griddle, over cooking paper and anoint them with mixed yolk. Give them eyes by using raising and mouths out of almonds, like you see in the pictures. Cook for about 20 minutes (depending on the oven), but check them not to burn. After they cool down, sprinkle powdered sugar over them.
