Chocolate and coffee - what better desert for when your friends visit or when you simply want to spoil yourself with something sweet?

Ingredients

  • 150 grams black chocolate
  • 40 ml black coffee
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liquor
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • a bit of salt

For a crunchy touch:

  • 150 grams sugar
  • 50 grams almond flakes
  • 200 ml whipped cream for decoration

Step 1: Mix the egg yolks with the sugar at bain-marie, until the composition thickens. Let it cool off. Tear the chocolate into pieces, mix it with coffee, liqueur and after it melts, remove it from heat and let it cool off. Fold the two mixtures with a blender. Mix the whites with a bit of salt until they turn into a hard foam. Fold it in the chocolate crème with a spoon, mixing gently. Pour the cream in 4 dessert cups and place them in the fridge for an hour.

Step 2: In the meantime, prepare the crunchy part: bake the almonds in a pan, without oil or other kind of grease, mixing constantly. You have to be careful, because they cook very fast. In a small pot melt the sugar over small heat and when it turns into a caramel, add almonds. Spread the mixture on a baking paper, then cut it into stripes with a wet knife. Keep it in a cool place until it hardens.

Step 3: Decorate the cups with whipped cream and add the almond and sugar strips on top. Enjoy!
