American pancakes with banana slices

Recipes - American pancakes with banana slices

I make pancakes quite often and I don't seem to get tired of them. I like them especially in the morning, with a cup of black coffee. If you think they are too much work, maybe you haven't found the right recipe yet or you make too many of them. I admit I don't like to make large quantities or eat too many at once and maybe that's why I make them so often. This morning I made just 5, enough for a breakfast for two.

  • 130 grams flour
  • one egg
  • 150 ml milk
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • a bit of salt
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • extra butter for frying

Directions for American pancakes with banana slices

Step 1: In a bowl mix flour with sugar, salt and baking powder.

Step 2: In another bowl mix egg with milk and melted butter. Add this mixture over the flour one and stir gently with a fork until it becomes homogeneous. Let it sit for 5 minutes.

Step 3: Melt a teaspoon of butter in a small frying pan. Then add a the dough (which should be like a thick cream) with a laddle into the pan. One laddle at a time is enough. When it starts frying, add slices of banana on top and press them gently into the dough. After about two minutes, turn the pancake on the other side.

Step 3: Continue with the rest of the dough. Serve pancakes with fresh fruit and caramel, or just simple. Enjoy!
